George Thompson, a results oriented, seasoned business professional, who is passionate about developing and implementing quality solutions for business problems, has founded Pathways to Quality LLC, a firm dedicated to coaching individuals to improve their lives and to facilitating strategic, organization, and process improvements to improve cash flow in successful businesses.
George has a M.B.A. in finance from the University of Chicago, a M.S. in mathematics from the University of Illinois, and a B.S. in mathematics from Eastern Illinois University.

Having worked for many Fortune 500 firms during the course of his career, George has previously held a variety of roles. Prior clients and employers span many markets & industries, including IT strategic outsourcing, IT management consulting, IT security & infrastructure, IT performance & capacity management for multiple business areas including insurance, food processing, finance / banking, retail, real estate, agricultural commodity, barge freight, and airlines.

o Performance and capacity management midrange programs were developed, marketed, & executed for several major corporate clients for a major IT outsourcing firm;
o A performance capacity management program was developed for a SAP/R3 system for a major energy company;
o As a senior manager in charge of IT infrastructure for a large electronics wire & cable supplier, IT operations were improved including the addition of a data administration system;
o As part of a management consulting team was instrumental in recommending and implementing data center improvements to manage the consolidation of two major airlines;
o Performed financial comparisons between alternative IT projects and estimated a $1 million cost difference for a major media company;
o Managed an Information Technology department for a barge freight firm for 3 years creating 3 new major business applications, reduced the budget by 10% during the same period, and reversed the reputation of the IT department from a negative to a positive image;
o Authored or co-authored several papers presented and published at the International Computer Measurement Group (CMG) including receiving a best paper award in 1996;
